The Ashot will be your shotgun for a good portion of Metro Exodus. So far, it’s the only weapon in the game that’s guaranteed to kill in complete silence, so consider it your best stealth weapon. No part of this site or its content may be reproduced without the permission of the copyright holder. Metro Exodus wants you to be stealthy, but sometimes you need to put some lead down range. (If you ever see a new gun out in the wild - even if you don't want to keep it - you should always at least interact with it once!). Valve: A high-damage sniper rifle with a hell of a kick. As a bonus, you can recover them and use them again because, again, it’s just a tin can.

I don’t think you have to pick them up.... just pull the ammo and accessories. You can hold E to swap the gun with your current weapon, or hold R to just grab the attachments. If you have a pack of mutants bearing down on you, you’d much rather have a Shambler than you would an Ashot. The Valve is the only sniper in the game, really. Every weapon in the game is customisable. We have a full list of attachments and weapons for assembling the ultimate post-apocalyptic ranger. You can only clean your weapons in Metro Exodus at a workbench. Bulldog: An AR that’s an upgrade on the Kalash in every way, except that it fires slightly slower and degrades faster. Revolver: A reliable, powerful pistol that kicks heavily, so you have to wait between shots. You’ll get the Tikhar at the beginning of the Volga. Here’s the rub – the Bulldog fires in three-shot bursts, which gives it an increased range and accuracy. Okay, so, here’s the weird thing about the A-shot, or Ashot as some write – it looks like a pistol, but actually it’s a bit like a low-powered shotgun. Let us start with how you can get ammo for your weapons. The Tikhar will be presented to you as part of the main story progression in Metro Exodus, and it’s a hand-built air gun rather than a pre-war hand-me-down. Scrapping weapons in Metro Exodus gives you crafting materials, which you always need. It’s a jack-of-all-trades, which in turn means it is a master of none – but that versatility means you should keep one on you at all times – or at least, until its bigger, better brother, the Bulldog, comes along. You’ll encounter a range of guns in Metro Exodus to that end, and the various weapons on offer each have slightly different pros and cons that’ll surely impact how you might feel about using each.

It’s therefore worth grabbing the parts off every gun you find (by holding R as described above), just in case you can get a spare. You do not physically store your guns there. There are fewer guns overall, but the new attachments system lets you configure the guns you do have in a variety of different ways. You can craft them, but you’ll also easily pick them up by disabling noisemaker traps throughout the game. You can do this on the fly anywhere in the game and apply basic parts, meaning you can even potentially swap some parts for one specific encounter you know is going to take place at a certain range, then switch back once the encounter is over.
