Tensely-plotted, sharply and sympathetically-acted, nerve-wracking and touching, this supernatural tale arrives a startling delight in a summer packed with pyrite at the bottom of the gold miner’s pan.

I originally thought that the film was much more complex than it actually was: I thought each photo period from 8am - 8pm and 8pm - 8am was its own separate time universe, where the events could be changed / manipulated via actual physical time travel.

#TalLazar (cinematographer) uses the isolated rural setting to remarkable effect. Is anybody home at "House of the Witch? More specifically, Sam having caused his sister’s death at an early age. Every Time I Die lives up to both the evocative nature and the weirdness of its title.
The “mystery” here has a surreal feel as the film maintains, after a fashion, its opening gimmick — seeing all this through Sam’s eyes. They insist Sam come along. Well, not Mia. Menchaca has a soulful vibe he taps into here and that softens Jay into somebody we can believe would be barely hanging on, but still desperate to help his paramedic partner. “Every Time I Die” is the best no-budget thriller of the summer, moody, cerebral drama about a guy who carries his guilt about a childhood loss through multiple soon-to-be-murdered bodies in search of redemption. Informed film criticism, against the grain –since 1984. Cinemark And yet, Robi Michael’s tear-jerking piece on love and redemption carries this off almost mockingly easily.

It’s a brilliantly judged and executed scene, one which establishes the thematic bedrock of the movie: the notion of looking at oneself and coming to terms with trauma. Shooting in muted colours to emphasise the melancholy and utilising a mixture of long shots to capture the outdoor vistas, and close-ups during the indoor scenes to exaggerate the tension between the characters.
