Tier 8 - 10 battleship bow/stern, tier 8 - 10 British and French battleships' casemate plating, Most light cruisers (152 mm, 155 mm, 180 mm), German 203 mm (Hindenburg, Roon, Hipper, Yorck), Only battleship calibre HE can penetrate their deck armor. Marksm. Much like her predecessors, players will find her accuracy much more favorable when closing in on the enemy. (generally speaking). Discussion. For information, as per my signature, I am mostly interested in IJN DD, CL\CA & BB lines - I'm not playing CVs anymore and unlikely to continue with British CL\CA line either (don't want to user free XP and the tier 4 is soul-destroyingly painful for me to play), so will probably only play my IJN ships and the Japlanta ;-), I've looked for threads but not found any - all I could find were a couple of news articles about the changes but they don't seem to link to any forum threads and I don't really trust WG's own recommended skills... ;-), https://worldofwarships.eu/en/content/commanders-skills/, https://worldofwarships.eu/en/news/common/commander-skills-guide/.

Somewhat modified survivability build. Concealment on Brawl BB nowadays are 4 wasted points. Ist better used for FP oder other skills. While i kind of understand the profits of Super Intendant and the two obvious others, i struggle to comprehend why its a common advice to get Concealment Expert on them. As the peak of the Russian battleship line, Kremlin is a very durable battleship with noticeably worse-than-for-tier main battery dispersion at long ranges and better-than-for-tier main battery dispersion at close ranges. Gunboats. My main question is whether it is worth swapping expert marksman and priority target for concealment.

Double edit: Final captain build- Fire prevention, Concealment, superintendent, high alert, adrenaline rush, preventative maintenance, Basics of Survivability. Looks like I'll probably either take vigilance because of Kreml's massive size and KM turning circle or several lower cost skills. Also paradoxically, CE can be useful with an aggressive approach too, allowing you to get in closer before opening up with your first devastating salvo. Yes, the game will get more complex in higher tiers and concealment becomes very important. Concealment is the single most important skill in the game.

I run a tank build with CE on Yamato and even with 14.10km concealment, i manage to disengage in a lot of situations. Concealment Expert and Superintendant first, along with fire prevention and basically everything that reduces DoT(Damage Over Time, Flooding/Fires) duration and chance. Do not take concealment on the RU BBs because you want to get close with them to make the guns work and with the CV perma spotting meta it makes even less sense.

Only weakness is vulnerability to BB AP, between its large citadel and poor gun angles-- a problem greatly mitigated by the tier's complete lack of super cruisers and the format's limit of 1 BB. After you win a brawl and kill the ships in your immediate area, you might want to go dark and heal. For ships which rely on fire damage IFHE thus can be a poor choice even if significant armor thresholds are passed. As we why CE for BB, well while i agree with your comments there is also the issue of getting the best out of your "Repair Party" consumables. I can also recommend Situational Awareness for cruisers.

There are only some BB where this skills is actually usefull. Marksm. Can heal additional full pen damage. Other than those skills depent on the ship you are using.

Agreed, the only BBs which I'd say truly need EM are the Queen Elizabeth and the Yamato. That's exactly the reason why CE is good for BBs. Sinop — Soviet Tier VII battleship.. A high-speed battleship project, armed with 406 mm guns that were developed right before the beginning of World War I. Im currently rather at the start of my ship career and mostly stuck between battleships and cruisers. The biggest warship of World War II and the world's largest battleship. krazypenguin, January 29, 2018 in Newcomers' Section. Vanguard. Brawlers succeed because they can give and take a lot of damage at close range. But you haven't seen the best part yet. Like a cruiser with 155mm and below Armament for example (IFHE). All rights reserved. (rather cheap prize for showing you how many enemys want to see you dead). Also CE is almost mandatory. On anything else I'd rather take AR, which is something I would say is an absolute must on almost every single ship. if you didn't take it @3 or if you took it then whichever of the other 2 you prefer. What have we done to deserve this, Wargaming? Any ships that I wanted to brawl have seen me coming and have already run away. You also need a 2nd 19 point captain for the 2nd Tier 10 VMF BB ( Slava / Pobeda ), We will see after the inevitable nerfs. My main question is whether it is worth swapping expert marksman and priority target for concealment. BBs can use it too, especially the ones with atrocious turret traverse like some early Brits, and the more static bowtanking BBs like Nelson. If you can "vanish" while you heal back your health you can (especially with UK ships), almost live twice ! You trigger it with the "H" button, and select your ship, it gives general captain skills for each ship + what flags are beneficial for a certain class. Definitely no secondary build. The longer you stay undetected the less damage you take. Everyone sings the praises of CE for BBs but in small low-tier maps with often 2x CVs, it's very dubious.

Here are some common armor thicknesses and the minimum HE shell diameters needed to penetrate them (since Update 0.9.2), according to the HE penetration formula. NEW INFORMATION IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION.

Looks like dropping expert marksman will be the way to go.

mod from Aslain's mod pack.

its overall counterproductive and mostly pointless for BBs to stay far away and out of the main battle zones. Despite their stated role as brawlers their secondaries are completely mediocre.

Here are some common armor thicknesses and the minimum HE shell diameters needed to penetrate them, according to the HE penetration formula.

Some other ships gain some benefit, but this is not generally considered worth the cost in skill points and the tradeoff in fire starting capabilities.
